Bloody and the Upper East Side!

So my top favorite shows are back on air. The Upper East siders, Gossip Girl season 4 and the Bloddy Mystic Fallers; The Vampire Diaries season 2. I'm all squeaky and thrilled.
The first three episodes of Gossip Girl so far are killing. Serena back to columbia, goood news.

And omg, can you guys believe I've not seen anything Glee? As in NOT at all.. Its not like i hate it or anything, I'm yet to get the DVD of season 1, even Voldemort beat me to it. One thing i know is even Samantha Ronson hasn't watched glee too, just that she doesn't plan on watching though.

Sorry, the images are taking forever to load. I'll edit this post later.

The World's Most Famous Paintings.

Hello LiveDreamMakers! Ok, this may be my last post for the week unless something interesting happens or comes across my mind over the weekend, I won't forget to blog!

I have grown to develop love for art I’m surprised at myself. I really want a portrait of myself; Egyptian art is also some sort of art that is blowing off my mind right now, not to talk of cave arts(the earliest type of art found), gosh! I love paintings, especially prehistoric and ancient paintings. The modern type of “painting” or should say (spray painting??) is what I see as graffiti, the ability to mix up colors and get all those “very eye catching” still images are awesome. Imagine blending a room of graffiti (all the neon colors) with paintings? If you guys can imagine what I’m imagining, you must be feeling the vibes I’m feeling too, lol. That would definitely be awesome.

Anyways, below are the world’s most famous paintings and I arranged them on random basis.

Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci

The Italian Leonardo painted the portrait Mona Lisa from 1503-1506.

The delicately atmospheric haze, light and shadow contrasts created are just killing! Its super dope!

American Gothic by Grant Wood

It was painted in 1930 and it depicts a farmer and his grown daughter in a style influenced by the 15th-centuary Flemish portraits.

I love the artistic mind behind this painting, though whenever I look at the farmer, it puts a silly smile on my face.

Liberty Leading the People by Eugène Delacroix

French romantic painter Eugène Delacroix was inspired to paint Liberty Leading the People after the Revolution of 1830, when Parisians took up arms in hope of restoring the republic created after the French Revolution of 1789 to 1799.

The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali

Painted in 1931, the Spanish painter referred to his work as “hand-painted dream photographs”. The strange form in this painting’s foreground is based on an image from Hieronymus Bosch’s The Garden of Earthly Delights (about 1505-1510).

However, I find it really really obsessive, it’s a kind of painting you would like to take a second look at. I see it as a paranormal art and that makes it sleek and unique. Its among my favorite paintings.

Creation of Adam by Michelangelo

According to the book of Genesis, the first book of the Bible, God created Adam, the first man, in his own image from dust. In this fresco from the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, Italian Renaissance artist Michelangelo depicted God in human form, giving Adam the breath of life.

The Scream by Edvard Munch

From Norway, it was painted in 1893.

This is also one of my favorites. I see this painting as the perfect scream, the violent colors used, the sinuous forms, the screaming subject, I mean everything seems perfect in this portrait. It is a dope painting with a perfect environment. However, I would have loved it more had the other seen people acted as if the scream was having an effect on them. Owh well!

The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh

The Starry Night (1889), one of Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh's best-known paintings, illustrates the artist's vivid, expressive style. Thick, swirling brushstrokes and contrasting colors charge the work with emotional intensity. Van Gogh transformed the setting of a quiet village at night into a dazzling portrait of the inherent power of the natural world.

Campbells Soup Can

Campbell’s Soup Can (1962) by American pop artist Andy Warhol is one of a number of virtually identical paintings done by the artist in the early 1960s. The cartoonlike image, flat and simplified, is characteristic of pop art. Warhol selected his subject matter from amongst images already present in popular culture or advertising, thereby keeping his work intentionally impersonal.

My top 5 places I'd love to visit!

Barcelona
The second largest city in Spain. Do you guys know I take Spanish lessons on my own? Well yea, everything about Spain sends me smiling. I think guys with Spanish accents are romantic haha jk. I’d love to see the Arc del Triomf and Graudi’s Sagrada Familia cathedral… omg those are pretty historic

LA
Owh mehn, what can I say? I love Los Angeles, the centre of motion picture, radio and television broadcasting. The typical LA accent, omg, very interesting. The Walt Disney Concert Hall, it has this crazy architecture, so cool and amazing also, Rodeo Drive in Bervilly Hills, a famous shopping area though I don’t love shopping (except food shopping), it’d be nice to experience the pleasure of seeing some of the top shops I hear of and see on tv

Paris
WOW! Paris; the capital and largest city of France and the city of fashion! Like who wouldn’t turn his/her head around to look again at the Eiffel Tower even if it’s like the 100th time you passing by within the same hour, worse, at night? So freaking awesome! The Sante Chapelle ; a palace chapel with marvelous design, Notre-Dame cathedral; one of the oldest chapels I’ve heard of 1163 (you guys might be wondering why I have this thing for chapels, well, I wonder why too..lol), Pompidou Centre dear me, the list could go on forever…. A summer afternoon would just be lovely.

Rome
The capital of Italy, where real history is defined… Their style of fashion and owh, their language, fidelino Roberto …lol all the “o’s and to’s” don’t mind me. I would love to visit Rome also because its been mentioned several times in the Bible, like its history.

NYC
My list can never be complete without “The City” making it into the spot. New York, the most populous and commercial city in the USA! Preferably, Manhattan! For the places I’d love to visit, the list would go on till eternity lol, concert houses, museums, galleries, theaters, the Empire State building, all the breath taking bridges, Brooklyn Bridge; the longest suspending bridge in the world, omg omg Times Square; the home of New York City’s famous Broadway Theater district…..

These are just random placements, not like most favorite to least favorite or anything.

Old School Fashion

I find most ancient equipments intriguing; swords, telescopes, compass, horse carriages (not equipment)…. That maybe the reason of my obsession with museums! I’m yet to see a clothing line that has totally gone old school. My idea of a fashion line would bring back the fashion trends of the 60s 70s 80s and so on with a few light and simple touches of modernism. A photo shoot of models going old school, with those ancient equipments would produce splendid images with style. A mixture of a pirate and police dress codes would complete my idea of a splendid line. (Owh well, so I think), I picked the pirate cause of its old style and the police cause I want a “boys-thing” as well as military sort of thing; to bring discipline into the line and I think that places some sort of fashion statement. Haha, people say I’m Tom, well; I just love going boyish rather than girlish. My closet has more shorts than skirts or dresses. Seriously, I could wear a sneaker to a ballroom dance, yea, I’m sane! haha

Ok ok ok, enough already, I’m just feeling this new fashion trend. The whole white pair of socks thing is just so dope and I completely see the fashion sense that’s being expressed here, it’s a bit old school hence making it dope. The style of hair originates from the oldies as well. This, I see as a great taste in fashion. By the way, the model is 15yr old Kendall Jenner, half sister of the Kardashian sisters.

Aoki's 8th Birthday

How on earth I delayed in blogging this, only God knows. I got the photos from Global Grind the day they were posted and it’s been almost a month now. I still think it’s worth posting though.

Accompanied by mom Kimora Lee Simmons, big sister Ming Lee Simmons and little brother Kenzou Lee Hounsou, nothing could come more pleasant than a fashion show for the birthday bash. I can’t just wait to see the Babyphat girls grow into teenagers… pretty soon, sooner than we know it.

Knock-offs?

Last week my friends and I got into a little discussion which ended up a debate lol, on the sort of clothing and accessories whatsoever we put on. The lil discussion got more interesting than I thought and so I decided to blog on the show down. haha

Every lady or guy wants to look good but not all of us can pay the cost of looking good so we settle in with designer look-alikes better known as “knock-offs” which is the immediate possible second offer we do get. Knock-offs are normally sold on a fraction of the cost of the real items. Among my friends, a “hypebeast” stood so much against wearing of knock-offs… his point exactly was “real designer items command a lot of respect and class because they cost a lot”. One opposed by saying, “who’s gonna know you are wearing the original anyways?” and so he always settles in for knock-offs. One of my girlfriends also said “Many of us use these top labels to define ourselves. Owning a real designer handbag means you are a woman of DISTINCTION.” Those are not the exact words though and another cheeky one (lol) said something like “I literally feel like snatching and burning those copycat designer watches, shoes, bags, sunglasses whatsoever whenever I see them.

Regardless of how close one thinks his/her fake designer item resembles the real deal, it’s still a COPY, an IMITATION, a CONTERFEIT!!!!” (she actually asked me to put those in BLOCKS..lol)
Marketing centers of these “designer inspired” luxury items are sprouting up real fast. The Guccis, LV, the G & E Armanis, Burberry, G Unit you name it, even the fake G-Shocks are out…gosh! It’s sad to put on a genuine for instance Gucci but no one seems to recognize or acknowledge it because everyone wears it now. I binged up a few ways to know whether a product is genuine or not; check out the designer logos (they are normally engraved around frames and screws). Also, inspect the studs, buckles and zippers to confirm authenticity.
My personal reaction to this is, rather than going in for knock-offs, I’d even prefer a handed down original designer item.

If someone is into knock-offs, it’s OK (well, as long as he/she doesn’t plan rocking them forever or that’d be like sooo NOT ok, lol) However, we live in a material world in which luxury brand name items have become the ultimate status symbol for us ladies and gentlemen.
I’d wrap up by saying, whether you are a knock-off or designer lover, make sure you’re getting the right thing for the right price. However, don’t kill the fashion beat, rock on, life is cute dear Live-Dream-Makers. Signing out, peace! By the way, I’m a Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren huge fan,owh was that really necessary? Owh well haha.

My Inspirations!

Haha, some people may be like I went in for the rich ladies, owh well, there are other guys out there as well, karl lagerfield, marc Jacobs, bill gates yea….. wealth may not be the only contributing factor but the sort of determination they portray.

Kimora Lee Simmons
Kimora inspires me so much. From the reality show “Life in the Fab Lane” and CEO of BabyPhat. My favorites of her regular sayings is “if you quit, then you gonna be called a quitter” haha, of course I would NEVER wanna be called a quitter. In her TRS(true life story), she didn’t start big, “I was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth” she often says. She started up as a model and now among one of the most successful female moguls I’ve heard of. One of the many things I’ve learnt from her life story is; at start, one doesn’t need the whole world to make it successful at the end! With determination, a once nobody can stand out as a huge somebody someday .

The Simmons
From the reality show “Runs House”, we meet the Simmons family. I admire the love and support they give to each other within the family. Rev.Runs words of wisdom help me a lot in life. Anytime I’m away from home and I watch this show, I miss my family. No matter however you go round, you end up back in the arms of your family. Besides God, my family is the best thing that has ever happened to me. You need your family, I can bet on that..lol

Genevieve Nnaji
Hahaha, I remember she came on a talk show on radio; I missed it when they gave out the studio phone number and I couldn’t make the call during the entire program. In my opinion, I’d rate her into the top 5 best actresses in the world. She makes me wanna have a thing for acting, lol, I’m looking forward to her making it big outside the African continent. She’s such a screen icon….

Jessica
One of the best female presenters I’ve listened to my entire life. She keeps me STUNNED! Very friendly and jovial, I always give this lil scream anytime I hear Jessica, haha, my friends know me too well. She’s awesome. Wow!

Tyra Banks
Funny, I also started up modeling but quit just when I turned a teenager  I really did enjoy it though, it was so much fun but very involving. I had to quit and get a full drive with my academics. Tyra inspires me in the “Modeling World”, she has this ego which has actually made her what she is now. I love watching “Americas Next Top Model”. That’s her show.

Ellen Degeneres
She’s is the host of a popular talk show, “The Ellen Degeneres Show”. Owh well, I don’t really know but I just love her, she has this great sense of humor. Her give-aways are always soo touchy and it motivates me (when I grow up..lol) to reach out financially to the needy and together, we make life worth a living.

Oprah Winfrey
Rising up from a then struggling family and becoming who she is now, the richest women in entertainment since (now). The host of one of the most popular talk shows ever, “The Oprah Show”. Having difficulties at her initial stage didn’t stop her from reaching her dream. She nailed it…lol

In life, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a step. Whatever amount of hard work and determination you put in, its equivalence is what you will get, God for us all. Whatever you wanna do, you step up to it, and put in your best.
