Knock-offs?

Last week my friends and I got into a little discussion which ended up a debate lol, on the sort of clothing and accessories whatsoever we put on. The lil discussion got more interesting than I thought and so I decided to blog on the show down. haha

Every lady or guy wants to look good but not all of us can pay the cost of looking good so we settle in with designer look-alikes better known as “knock-offs” which is the immediate possible second offer we do get. Knock-offs are normally sold on a fraction of the cost of the real items. Among my friends, a “hypebeast” stood so much against wearing of knock-offs… his point exactly was “real designer items command a lot of respect and class because they cost a lot”. One opposed by saying, “who’s gonna know you are wearing the original anyways?” and so he always settles in for knock-offs. One of my girlfriends also said “Many of us use these top labels to define ourselves. Owning a real designer handbag means you are a woman of DISTINCTION.” Those are not the exact words though and another cheeky one (lol) said something like “I literally feel like snatching and burning those copycat designer watches, shoes, bags, sunglasses whatsoever whenever I see them.

Regardless of how close one thinks his/her fake designer item resembles the real deal, it’s still a COPY, an IMITATION, a CONTERFEIT!!!!” (she actually asked me to put those in BLOCKS..lol)
Marketing centers of these “designer inspired” luxury items are sprouting up real fast. The Guccis, LV, the G & E Armanis, Burberry, G Unit you name it, even the fake G-Shocks are out…gosh! It’s sad to put on a genuine for instance Gucci but no one seems to recognize or acknowledge it because everyone wears it now. I binged up a few ways to know whether a product is genuine or not; check out the designer logos (they are normally engraved around frames and screws). Also, inspect the studs, buckles and zippers to confirm authenticity.
My personal reaction to this is, rather than going in for knock-offs, I’d even prefer a handed down original designer item.

If someone is into knock-offs, it’s OK (well, as long as he/she doesn’t plan rocking them forever or that’d be like sooo NOT ok, lol) However, we live in a material world in which luxury brand name items have become the ultimate status symbol for us ladies and gentlemen.
I’d wrap up by saying, whether you are a knock-off or designer lover, make sure you’re getting the right thing for the right price. However, don’t kill the fashion beat, rock on, life is cute dear Live-Dream-Makers. Signing out, peace! By the way, I’m a Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren huge fan,owh was that really necessary? Owh well haha.
